I'm not surprised by this move at all. I was able to rent the first volume of Slam Dunk a couple of weeks ago and you guys were right about how badly Toei butchered the presentation of the series (no extras, episodes don't play continuously, horrible dub acting, etc.). Hopefully Toei will re-release them and correct the vast problems that plagued the original releases of the discs. It's a shame that this happened because I was looking forward to watching Slam Dunk in hopes that this title, in conjunction with the vast popularity of basketball in North America, would help revitalize the dying interest in sports-themed anime. |

If they're doing re-releases, Interlude better damn well be on their list of titles to fix. |

That's a real shame. I haven't seen Slam Dunk but I was a real fan of Air Master. The big problem on the Air Master dvds is that when you chose subtitles, it was close captioning, so when there was a sound effect along with the dialogue, it would say something like {sound of explosion}, or {laughing}. It was really annoying. I had heard of this problem with the second Ghost in the Shell movie so I couldn't believe it popping up on these dvds. I also saw Interlude and thought it was great even though I was a little confused by the ending. But I only saw it once. It was one of those shows that demands multiple viewings.

That's too bad. Now I'm glad I didn't get Slam Dunk when i had the chance. Oh well. Thanks.
