We've stated this numerous times and even have answered this on the ANNCast a few times... But no. If all we released were classics and alt comics we wouldn't be in business. Heck, we barely are at this point.
Thankfully Chi's Sweet Home, 5 Centimeters per Second, Practical Origami, Ten-Minute Bento and HeroMan are keeping us afloat. Having the occasional surprise like Flowers of Evil helps also.
So generally we don't really look at people's recs for classic titles. We have our own wish list and our three or so more Tezuka titles we wanna do. But we will continue to only release once pre-1995 book a year. While the other 40 manga releases should be current and hopefully have mass-market appeal (at least the majority of those 40 should).

I took the survey, and put down Princess Jellyfish as my requested title even though at ten volumes and ongoing, it's probably a bit long for you guys. Maybe Kondansha USA will take a look at this thread...

I know it is very wishful thinking, but I would love to see Shin Sekai Yori the "heavy" novel. Also, as far as "light" novels go, well I'm sure the are ones out of Vertical's licensing price range (SAO), but I wonder how well Baka to Test would do?
I know they said they were terrible sellers, but I wish we could see more Guin Saga.

1) Guin Saga
2 More Guin Saga
3) Yet more Guin Saga.
Do you think they'll get the subtle hint?

The only thing I've been able to come up with that sort of meets the criteria is Princess Jellyfish but I have a feeling they've gotten the message about that one already. Still hoping to see something come of that.

I just finished! The titles that everybody mentions requesting sound really good to me (I'd love to be able to read the Star of Cottonland so much!!) but I requested some stuff by Asumiko, Moyoco Anno and Chica Umino, because I loved how Vertical treated Paradise Kiss and Sakuran!
