Hhhhhhmmmmm. That trailer not working for anyone else? Aniplex's youtube uploads do tend to get a little wonky. This one won't play for me no matter what.

I was able to watch enough of the trailer to conclude that Cherami Leigh does not work as Asuna. Leigh is a very good voice actress, but I think she was miscast.
*Finally was able to watch the full trailer* In the trailer I also heard the voices of Kirito, Kayaba and Klein. They sound good to me, especially Klein. P.S. Let us hope they don't f up the opening theme by translating it.

Not working for me either. Anyone have any thoughts about the cast, based off of previous work? I admit I'm not too familiar with this lineup (Cherami Leigh being the most recognizable to me). |

Took me thirty freakin' minutes for the damn thing to load, but I finally was able to watch it.
Consensus? It's "meh" at best. Bryce Papenbrook is as over-acting as ever, and the narrator sounds like he's bored. Cherami sounds decent, but there's so few lines in her from the trailer that it's impossible to judge. From the single line that Klein uttered, he's either voiced by Kirk Thornton or Keith Silverstein, so either way he should be fun to listen to. The rest of the actors they announced didn't have any lines, but considering they're all of Bang/Zoom's "new crowd", I don't have very high hopes. Can someone PLEASE tell me why Christine "My Tiny Shrill Voice Has No Force, Punch Or Life To It Whatsoever" Cabanos gets so many important roles again?!?! 
In other words, typical Aniplex dub: Skimp on the voice work, but overcharge on everything else.

Well, can't watch the video. Kinda want to hear the casting, just to see if it breaks the trend of mediocre casting in mediocre shonen shows. Whatever the case, there's a 99.99% chance that the Aniplex release won't be worth it, since they don't seem to know that only great shows are worth Aniplex's normal price points, and SAO is really too generic shonen for them, it more Funimation/Viz's area, IMO.
Anyways, waiting for a price for the DVDs/BDs, so I can either laugh at the absurd pricing or be incredibly shocked that AoA is releasing things at standard American prices (like that'll happen). |

It didn't sound so bad. Cherami sounded nice; and yeah I agree Bryce overacted some of the lines ex; "If I die in this world, I die in real life".
I only watched a couple episodes of the sub and i'm not a Sub-elitist, I only stopped because I got lazy on anime. But yeah I do like the sound of this. It's crazy how fast they push out dubs trailers after they announce it. Unlike FUNimation where they announce something and give a dub 2 years later 6_6. |
