Although i visit this site almost daily to read up on the happenings of the anime industry i'm new to the forums. The other main reason i visit this site so often is because i've become fairly bored with the anime's that i have been watching, so ovbiously i'm looking for some help.
I enjoyed anime such as. Naruto Samurai 7 Rurouni Kenshin Hellsing Trigun Vampire hunter D Gun X Sword Princess Mononoke Cowboy Bebop As you can tell i like anime with samurai, ninja, guns, and a lot of action. The one thing i dislike would be (not trying to offend anyone, just an example) repeatition. Take inuyasha for example, its a good anime but i don't like the fact that basically every epsiode there is a new enemy and a new shard found. It's boring to me. But if anyone could help me out with my problem i'd be grateful. (P.S.--- i heard just today by a friend that there is a manga prequel of Hellsing, and they are making it into an anime, Does anyone know anything about that?) |

Welcome to ANN.
Try here: animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21419 As for a suggestion, you might like Samurai Deeper Kyo. Excellent storyline and development of characters and very good action sequences. |

He might mean the Hellsing Ultimate OAV series. It's not a prequel or anything, just a remake of the entire anime; better art, animation, a 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound and anamorphic widescreen presentation, new music, most of the same voices (aside from Anderson, though his new voice is pretty crazy too), and a majority of the original material presented in the way it was written. So far, the first episode equated to the first volume of the manga and runs about 50 minutes in length. In case you didn't know, the TV series actully splits from the manga plotline about halfway through, around the Valentine brothers. Incognito and everything beyond that arc never happened in the manga. The OAV is currently licensed and produced/paid for in part by Geneon. There is only one episode out right now in Japan, and I have no clue when it will come out in the U.S., so don't ask. |

buy Yu Yu Hakusho First Battles. It has the first 14 ep. Yu Yu Hakusho in my opinion is the best anime for the awesome fights and progressing story. its also really cool

If you liked Cowboy Bebop, I think you'd like Samurai Champloo. Its got the same blend of action and comedy, except with samurais.

Most of the suggestions are good so far and no need to say them again so..
For a bit darker but heavy action series, I'd suggest Blue Gender and Berserk. Blue gender is your more horror sci-fi romp with guns and the military, while Berserk is an exceptionally well done medieval times kind of anime. Full Metal Alchemist isn't purely action, but I do feel it is a good anime and is related to some of the others you've listed. Definitely check this one out. Be sure to look out for the second Vampire Hunter D movie. I think it was a lot better than the first in story and animation. |
