I think it's a little strange that an official Mario manga doesn't have an American release even though Pokemon's manga comes out here. Is this just not very good? I would imagine the name alone would be enough for it to sell.

From what I hear its essentially either a 4koma or gag manga that's on crack, so I doubt we're missing much...though after saying that I am a tad curious to see how crazy it's supposed to be.

Significant difference there being that one's typical shonen-style and the other's purely gag. Gag doesn't sell as much as we'd like. Take Pokémon Adventures' publisher Viz Media's Gin Tama and Reborn!. One was cancelled two years ago, the other has remained on hiatus for the last three.

There's like 30+ different manga for Pocket Monsters. A lot of them don't get released in the west, and the ones that do are horribly handled and skip like multiple volumes and chapters and are edited. Seems about par for the course to me.
