Please name a sport you like to see in an Anime and why?
Also if the sport you name is already in an Anime that you have seen please tell me a little of what you thing of it. I have only just started to watch Animes with a sport theme in it. I liked Whistle due to it had the little small boy underdog story line and that he got better good at soccer with hard work not some super power thing. |

I don't know if there is an anime series out already about it, but I always thought it would be cool if there was a Hockey anime. I think that would make a great show. It would have fighting, drama, action, and so on. If there is one let me know. |

I know their is anime about football/soccer, but I have never seen any. I would like to see anime about Waterpolo and European Handball.
I don't know if this counts as sports, but you could say its a racing sport. Maybe futureristic motorcycle racing. |

I would love to see a hockey based anime, however I am not sure if Japan even cares all that much about Hockey, I know Baseball has been a growing sport as well as soccer and auto racing....specifically formula one. And with that I'd love to see a football anime (i know there eyesheild 21) but I would like something like Pro football anime. There already plenty of drama and action in that sport, I think that it could work. |

I've heard of it, and it sure proves how can determination make someone achieve his/her dream. I know there are quite a lot of soccer series, but my wish is to see a series where a FEMALE soccer team is the main one. Hungry Heart Wild Striker had one, but not as important as the guys' team. Volleyball, probably because it's the only sport that I'm really truly good at. plus, I haven't seen a sport themed anime that was mainly about volleyball.[Excuse my ignorance, i know that some of you guys probably have seen a volleyball anime. If there are some.] Seems kinda boring, but it'd be a change from all the basketball [Slam dunk], baseball [princess nine] stuff I've seen.
BTW:I'm not a big fan of hockey, but I think it'd be good to have a hockey anime too. |

Lacrosse.
I remember playing it a couple times in gym class back in high school, and I think I had a pretty good knack for it. (I never went out for any teams, however, but it was still fun) |

Are you a child of the NHL expansion from the early 90s into the southern US as well? I see your from the sunshine state. I'm a big Anaheim Ducks fan (so glad they dropped "Mighty" from their name), and I loved Disney's Mighty Ducks movies (maybe not D3). A hockey anime would definitely be something I would check out. Go Ducks! |

There's an old series called Attack No. 1 that's about volleyball. There's also the Crimson Hero manga, but if we're sticking to anime, I think Attack No. 1 is about it. I don't know what sport I'd like to see in an anime. All of the sports I like have been made into anime (golf, basketball, American football, and tennis), although I'd like to see more golf anime (Dah Doh!! is a bit too straightforward). Of course, it doesn't matter what sport gets made into anime, I'd like to check it out. I don't like soccer in the slightest, but I really like Whistle!. Same goes for Fighting Spirit. And I still want to make time to watch Major. Perhaps a bowling anime? |

Haha, bowling would be awesome! I'm sure they would figure out a way to make a series for a bowling team. If they can do Hikaru No Go, they can do bowling. How about a croquet (or gate-ball) show? |

An anime about scuba diving could be exceptionally elegant and expensive.

Yeah, all of my favorite sports have been into anime as well, them being Football, Basketball, Volleyball (aperantly! just found that out today!) and Baseball. I'm already a huge fan of Eyesheild 21, but I am kind of pissed that I can't seem to find Rebound, Slam Dunk, Princes Nine, and probably this Volleyball anime I just found out about anywhere.
Anyways, I think we need to see an anime series about without a doubt the best sport in the world! CURLING!!!!!!!! YES! A CURLING ANIME!!!!!! |

Since my favorite sports, basketball, baseball, (and to some degree) football, have been done time and time again, I can't call for anything there. I'm really not that much into hockey, but it would be interesting to see the concept for an anime based on it. Could possibly be a lot of fun.
Princess Nine is no longer licensed; however, remaining copies of the series collection are more likely to be found in dealers' rooms on the con circuit, as well as independent anime stores. |

Hackey Sack I think that it would be awesome to see a Hackey Sack anime, especially if they overboard about it, kinda like PoT, and have super special awesome moves.

^ I like that one! How about a Dodgeball anime or, even better, a TEATHERBALL ANIME!!! That was the best sport ever besides Curling!
Thanks! I'll probably have to look at some of the independent anime stores around here since I live way too far away from even the nearest con and lack the funds to travel that far to go to any cons. |
