Hello there.
I'm trying to get information on AX2008.
Such as: where it will be held, etc.
Now, I would try to ask the forums at anime expo dot com,
but the morons don't let new users post for some rediculous amount of time.
So, I finally just decided to come here and ask anyone if they know anything of rumors, etc.
Also, if any of you have already achieved the right to post on their forums, could you maybe ask over there for me because I can't seem to post.
Maybe my account isn't fully activated or something.
Lame.
Well, thanks, anyone who knows anything!

You're sure you're not asking for 2007, right? The only information I know for 2008 is that it's supposed to be in Anaheim, unless I'm mistaken. 2007 is going to be in Long Beach, from June 29 to July 2.

Yeah two-thousand-EIGHT, woohoo, I'm a long-term planner, that's all.
Hey, nothing wrong with that. Costumes take like forever to make and stuff.
Anyways, if it's back in Anaheim that's perfect because I boycotted Long Beach, and I want my freaking Anaheim back. Someone said they weren't sure about Anaheim though because there was apparently some sort of other group that was already booked there that weekend. I don't know anything about it really.
Thanks-

I have a "very nosy" friend who tells me that the 2008 expo will be back in Anaheim.
But I have a friends how volentered for the 2006 expo who says that it will move to Chicago in 2008.
Who's to say which is right??

If I heard correctly one of the staff here at ANN said that it will be back in Anaheim next year. If they said it here at ANN, I find that one more believable.

Would a rumor-mongering former AX staff count?
AX only switched to Long Beach for 2007 because the Shriners booked the Anaheim Convention Center for July 4th weekend 2007, and Nobody Messes With The Shriners. So that's just an odd blip in what should otherwise be a regular string of Anaheim appearances.

There you have it. If I understand correctly AX was at Anaheim for the past 8 years.

yes, I have heard of this Shriner rumor before....
O, Anaheim, how I love thee, I shall count the ways:
1. Disneyland
2. Disneyland Downtown
3. Disneyland in walking distance
4. ...etc.
5. Because, well, it's just convenient to book a couple extra days on a hotel package and spend them across the street at Disneyland.
Bonus.

Awwww.
I live just a few minutes away from the LB convention centre, I was really looking forward to a few more years close to home. : )
Not that I could EVER complain about being next to Disneyland. Bweee!

We've been talking about next year's location (which will be announced officially on Monday), and don't see anything good coming of it. But I have to admit, I was just as skeptical about LBCC, and it has so far turned out very well. |
This is definetly a problem. Rumor had it that it was coming back to Anaheim for next year, and I definetly don't want to see it coming back to Long Beach, seeing as the experience here has been a little less than pleasant. A good location me and my colleagues have been thinking is San Diego.

Yea. It's those darned Shriners reserving Anaheim all the freakin' time. $#%#$%#$
If AX moves to San Diego, that'd be sweet.

San Diego is even farther away than Long Beach - for me at least...I think...I really need to drive around my own state more, I really do...
No, I'd like to see it back in Anaheim. That was very nice in 2004.
