It means they're trying to manufacture a phenomenon from what they think is a sure-shot. Sailor Moon was the same way - manga, anime, merchandise all came out about the same time.

Looking forward to this. Senyuu is amusing, but too convoluted and occasionally too SRS.
Of course he could do the same with this one too.
