I saw this earlier, and I was actually a bit surprised. I figured they'd be pushing the New 3DS, but the surprise is that they're not discontinuing the original.

and they send those #@# 3SD XL to US because they don't want to release the new version in US.

Hopefully nothing noteworthy will be N3DS only. There really wasn't a need for this revision. To the third party devs: That little bit of extra CPU horsepower isn't worth alienating millions of current 3DS owners, don't make games exclusive to the revision.

Japan doesn't have the 2DS so I'd imagine the old 3DS is most likely remaining as their "budget" version.

This seemed like an odd move to me, but then again, the average Japanese person's hands are smaller than others. So I guess the original model is the more desirable option for them.

It has nothing to do with that.
It has to do with the new XL.
