I had just finished watching the latest Mikagura School Suite episode, and was thinking to myself, "well, that's just gotta be the craziest thing I'm going to see all week."

Turns out I was wrong, though. Wow.

"No actual horses were harmed during the development of this game."

While I think that sumo wrestlers riding on horses is a pretty quirky concept, I'm starting to think that Japan Sumo Derby is shaping up to be a fun game. Smile

Well, considering we first thought they were actually going to ride them, that's kind of a relief.

This kind of relate to my avatar: The black dog is a Tosa Inu/Japanese Mastiff, Japan's largest dog breed that has been bred for dog fighting. In it's native Kochi City, they perform in doggy sumo wrestling. The "horse" part corresponds to the fact that Mastiff-breeds on occasion get called "horses" because of their size.

The fact that such a game is being made definitely shows how niche you can make a market. I actually wouldn't mind mind an anime be made off of this.

As far as I remember, they also made Sengoku Musou Derby last year.

Well, the eccentric premise can make quite the hook, and if it's actually fun, it can actually catch on.

Well, I think the point is that it's supposed to be be that way and that's the fun of it.

Okay I gotta head over and play now. Last time they did AOT and that was pretty silly so now it's Sumo.
