"Studio DEEN notes that the anime will be full of gags. "

When I read based on Chinese novel, as a wuxia fan, I set my hope high. But looking from the story premise and the "full of gags" part, I guess this won't be the anime I hoped for. I could be wrong, of course.

In the anime's story, a comet falling will bring about a great calamity, and in order to choose a child fated by the falling comet, the family of the "Reiken" clan with a long storied history is once again resuming its entrance examination process to find disciples. The protagonist, who possesses a special soul that is only available once in a thousand years, decides to take the exam, and he starts down the path toward becoming an exceptional sage.
So far so good. It sounds like an interesting action-themed show. But then...

Wait, what? Shocked

Well, to be fair there are other action/comedy shows with that kind of premise.

This isn't the first Chinese-Japanese anime/manga collaboration project, right?

Now, if only they went and made an anime of Douluo Dalu, Ni Tian Xie Shen or Coiling Dragon...

Man didn't think I'd hear from those guys again. Even though I know they are not out. Looks interesting.

The premise of a protagonist with some uber special soul seems cliche, and it is Studio Deen after all... but maybe they can make it work.

This had my interest as a wuxia fan as well and I have the same reservations...

That would be awesome (without the gags!) and I will have to look into those other two, thanks Wink

how come no made an anime series about Douluo Dalu. The manga has soo much potential, although its been out for 5 years and the art work is amazing. Same goes for Douluo Dalu II - Jueshui Tangmen. I hope everone else agrees.
