Giggled, but didn't feel the need to tell everyone that I got you joke ¯ω¯·

Am I the only one that thinks of some character when seeing that funny little face Dormcat made? Excellent face, pal! Very Happy

Pretty much anyone using that phrase, as I believe "some guy" was Hamlet (and if it wasn't, it was definately some other Shakesperian character).

I use petard (in Spanish, Petardo) as an insult, almost all of the time. There ya have it.
Okay, Shakespearians and beautiful women can use it and be cool, but by golly the Lord of the Click is neither of those things!

Stop, stop, STOP! Embarassed. Why do people keep at it and make me blush?! Anime cry

Please tell me that you aren't somehow laboring under the misapprehension that "petard" is somehow a "naughty word". It's an explosive charge, y'know.

Actually, not just a bunai, but the bunai....

I know it pretty well, Abunai-sama n_n. It's an explosive artifact that may or may not have as much destructive power as a regular bomb. Sadly, we hear about petards on the news here a lot.

It may not be a real insult, but it sounds hard enough to use it as one. However, don't worry. As a bookworm, I'm conscious of the real meaning.

Does it make you feel any better? Wink

abunai, the one true bunai. Knower of all and wise beyond the measure of mere mortals.

Glad you liked that. I had GITS: Solid State Society on my mind when I posted. I'm still trying to decide how to pick up the various series. (Box sets or hunt the LE singles? Gah, I can't decide.)

Probably because I find blushing extremely cute. However, if my compliments make you uncomfortable, I shall restrain myself.

At least, for a while. I'm an incorrigible complimentor. Wink

I thank you for the compliments, but I hate blushing. Why? I always had.

From a thread that was instantly locked:

naruto134 wrote:

You can read about others' favorites in this thread:

And do try to spell "anime" correctly, since it is in big blue letters on the upper left side of your screen.

Hey, zalis that's not the only word he needs to learn how to spell!

Muteki Kanban Musume - My friend introduces this to me. Well, it is quite funny and I like the "Miki" MGM VERSION. (roar!!!!)

Black Lagoon - Because of it's good rate. This anime is good and awesome. I like it. Thumb up!!!

Suzumiya No Yuushata - Fall in love with this anime. Laughing can't forget the outro dance.

Lucky star - Because it contain alittle bit issue about the "Suzumiya Haruhi". This anime is full with joice and I like it. By the way, if you like "Pani Poni Dash", you can't miss this anime.

Devil may cry - I like the DMC games therefore I decide to watch this anime. Some of the episodes are great but some of them are a little bit boring.

Gosh! The above poster makes me laugh Laughing , don't you think people will argue about this and be angry if you criticize their English language. I have experienced it as well. The hell with this proper grammar and spelling, just use Mozilla Firefox to correct any mistaken words, more like a Word.

Well, it is obvious that English is ecsk0620's second language. It actually took me a bit to catch on to what what wrong with the post. S/he obviously tries and ends up doing a much better job at writing English than naruto134, who just seems lazy to me.

Woah, words you have used are much harder to understand Anime dazed
But then again, I see your point.

At least, be aware of people who are writing lazy english words, also spot their wrong syntax of words. Even so, by just understanding you can perceive the point of the poster, even if the poster's english language grammar is used not pretty well.

I wasn't making fun of ecsk0620, I was praising this user by pointing out how cute and funny things were phrased in that post. Almost every phrase rings true, regardless of the spelling and grammar so the involuntary use "Engrish" gives a very nice comedic effect. My intent of quoting this poster was entirely meant to be in a positive light, I'm sorry to him/her if they were offended or if others thought I was trying to ridicule ecsk0620.

But anyway reading that post gave me a chuckle and I thought it was worthy of being quoted in this thread, in case others missed it.
(Heh I'm even using a piece of ecsk0620's comment about Lucky Star as my signature in a different anime forum)

From the "Americanized quote" thread:

Somebody who really ought to have learned better by now wrote:

Boy o Boy! This is a new one for me!

Ulf wrote:
"Expected" is not a word in my dictionary. I am a libertarian and any rules that "expect" something outside of common-sensical, are simply no rules but gestapo. Young people need to learn to stand up and get the balls and say no to control. If anybody lives in America then they can attest how lacking in understanding that nobody should set up some crazy rules on an ANIME-MANGA site for Christsake, is connected with corrupt runnaway government, over control by offices and outright lack of order and respect for individuality.
Having responded to the "rules" section, I would still like to add that I learn best with live interaction and "doing research" on the subject to me is cold-calling. Meaning, I see the words but they blur and no meaning arises out of it. It is because there are 1001 writing style, most of the time people are illiterate and beat around the bush, the thread of thought is confused, the personal perceptions and goals are entertwinded with explanations.
That is why I asked and did not google.
So, anybody who does know the difference and can briefly fly it by me would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Shocked

My uncle's wife is a Libertarian but she certainly doesn't use it as an excuse for being lazy!

Original Thread Here! [Nope! Glad someone caught this one on the records for everyone else to see, but I saw that it wasn't someone who was genuinely trying to get an answer, so I deleted the thread after that comment. Nothing wrong with everybody getting a good laugh out of it though. Laughing -selenta]

I found another one this one to someone who had made similar threads concerning 2 different anime:

Person who did not read Teh Rules wrote:
Does anyone have OVA 3 of Tenchi Muyo episode 14-20 in ENGLISH. I have been looking for it everywhere.

Nagisa wrote:
Yeah, I have it, but I accidentally left it at the local video store. Several copies, too, all stacked up where the rest of the anime DVDs are. You'll have to pick it up there.

Bring money. About $20 every three or four episodes oughta cover it.

Locked.

Person who still did not read Teh Rules wrote:
Does anyone have the whole series of Basilisk in ENGLISH?? If u do uploads who be greatly appreciated.

Nagisa wrote:
Protip: reading the rules of a website is a good idea. It keeps you from making a fool of yourself.

Like you did here.

No, really. Go read the rules. Don't worry about this thread, I'll lock it up real nice for you while you're gone.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

I love Nagi! I wish I could think and write that fast!
