I'm confused the lead character is female, yet the actor chosen for her is male... I hope it's just her male form because I don't understand.
It seems unconventional for magical girl series, though it doesn't mean I'll watch it. |

Per its MyAnimeList entry, it is a BL series. That should give you an idea. That same page had an announcement from 8/4/14 it would get an anime. That is a long time for a follow-up announcement. |

Interesting twist on one of my favorite premises. I think I'll try out the manga after I finish Princess Holy Aura, a book with a premise I never thought I would see from an American Sci-Fi writer(that being author Ryk E. Spoor), about a 30-something nerd who turns into a magical girl.

We looked into this and while we found some fan pictures online of anime announcements on the manga's obi (wraparound jacket) and on an ad at Shinjuku Station from 2014, ANN's staff members couldn't confirm this at the time, and no official news outlets reported on it at the time either as far as we can tell. So if it was announced three years ago, we couldn't confirm the news. We decided therefore to write it up as a new anime announcement. |
