So, is this the same Marin who appeared in the 2009 anime Umi Monogatari? Sort of? It's at least based on the same pachinko character, I'd guess.

I think I had seen this character before. The early one, I didn't know it had that long of a history. So Akira Himekawa is a woman. Never knew. But I'll say she's been getting a lot of work these days. Drawing Zelda comics, and now you're in charge of a pachinko mascot. I'm really glad I attended that panel.

Let me get this straight.
They came all the way to NYCC to promote a manga adaptation of a mascot for a popular gambling machine almost nobody over here cares about?
It seems as if the company mistook our response to Konami's Pachislot unveilings as actual hype.
