Dub sounds good, and I like the logo! I just hope they don't rescore this movie like they have the past couple of movies.

It'd also be nice if they'd release the movie with dual-audio when it comes to home video later on. I mean, even 4K Media (4Kids under a different name) is releasing Yu-Gi-Oh! movies dual-audio nowadays.

Ahh... forget about it. They may have released the Pokémon games with a Japanese option, but when it comes to the anime, they will never listen to you... Sad

I know the gen 7 games let you choose from many languages including japanese. I'm fairly sure gen 6 did the same.

Pokémon will never be released dual audio. Also, the film will be rescored, I guarantee it.

Has there been a source confirming why not? I've always found it odd when even titles like Digimon and Beyblade are getting subbed streams nowadays.

Come to think of it, Pokemon SHOULD’VE JUST instead be released in both Dub and Sub versions.

I don't think an official reason was ever given for why they don't release uncut Pokemon but I assume it's because Nintendo wants to keep Pokemon as a kid friendly franchise. Although there are many older Pokemon fans, the franchise's primary target audience is still kids. With the upcoming Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee games targeting an even younger audience than the mainline RPGs, Nintendo seems to want to keep Pokemon kid friendly for a long time to come as it's still a big seller for them. That's partly why even now they still will skip episodes in the English dub that would be considered to have a negative impact on their family friendly image. In the case of Digimon, Tri was specifically produced to be marketed towards an older nostalgia audience. Even though Digimon is also a kid's show, I think it's always been more for a slightly older kid demographic than Pokemon, especially with darker seasons like Digimon Tamers and Data Squad, and some of the video games. So I feel like Digimon has always been more at liberty to be riskier with it's content than Pokemon.

Given how popular Pokemon is, I imagine it's also probably cheaper to just dub it and I can imagine the license fee for a sub release is probably expensive like other kids anime that are popular in Japan like Precure. At least this movie dub should be pretty faithful to the original as the previous film was other than changing the music and I think the TPCI dubbing cast has a improved a lot since their early days. I just wish they could keep the Porno Graffiti theme song because I already love that song but I've already accepted they're likely going to change it. Though actually I ended up liking the dub theme for the I Choose You movie even more than the original ending theme for that movie.

Porno Grafiti song could have vocals replaced with instrumental like how Professor Layton games have their vocals songs being replaced with instrumental and remove the names of music artists as well. The name Porno Grafirti dosen't sound really good because the name of "Porn" could lead offensive to the children if they are shown the credits, so they had to remove them on the credits roll.

TPCi has always done some editing the scene and even removing scene that are inappopriate for kids such as banning one episode in which wears blackpaint faces to disguise himself as in Episode 64 of Sun and Moon anime, to avoid racism toward African communities around the world. The ban of the Episode 64 was prehaps the first well known that TPCi has banned it from being broadcasted worldwide so far, and there are going to be some other episodes that could be banned somehow by TPCi if the any of the scenes contains something that are deemded offensive for children like one episodes of Sun and Moon in which Pokemon human girls take one a onsen and Ash, Kiwae and Solphicies ended up disturbing them and they get slap and have a handprint on their cheeks.

Also, a lot of the anime and films of Pokemon is needed need to be rescored because some songs have a licensing issues when it comes to being brought to US. (I find some fewer J-Music i tunes, which is kinda ironic, some people complained that bringing Japanese music to the Itunes and Spotify is complicated though)

(sorry for my poor English though)

Well here's the thing: The dubbed version of the Japanese theatrical trailer? Kept the Japanese score. The 30 second teaser trailer Fathom Events posted to advertise their screenings? Had the track "Furious Plasma Fists" from the Japanese OST playing, and they wouldn't likely have access to thay piece if it's not gonna be in the movie. This trailer uses new music, but then this is a trailer TPCi made themselves; There was no Japanese trailer theme for them to use. Also, the only word we have from dub composer Ed Goldfarb about this movie is that he composed the ending theme song. All of this points to this movie not being rescored aside from Porno Grafitti's song being removed.

...And for the record, if this does turn out to be the case, I'm buying the DVD despite not liking the dub. The changed music is my single biggest pet peeve with it, and if they are finally releasing another movie with the original score intact, I do want to support them for it.

EDIT: And on the whole "keeping it child-friendly" thing, having seen this movie during a trip to Japan recently, I can only think of one scene that might get censored. I won't give any specifics but there is an image in the movie that could possibly be deemed a bit too gruesome for an E-rated movie. Though it could get through too, it's no more intense than what we see in a lot of Disney movies, less of an actual brutal image and more of a... "Something really scary is happening just out of view now" kind of scene.

(And if anyone wants to know what it is and doesn't care about spoilers, the scene in question is spoiler[a flashback where a Pokémon is killed in an explosion. There's this one shot of it getting consumed by fire, and while we don't see any gory details, that one shot might still be considered a bit too scary for young children.])

If Nintendo ever has plans to stream movies and TV shows on their Nintendo Switch Online service, this movie should be the first piece of original content available. I love using Hulu on my Switch, but streaming recent Pokémon movies (outside of the awful I Choose You!) would be awesome to see being played on my console in addition to those NES classics.

Why would that be in the movie? Despite the dub title's insistence, Everyone's Story has nothing to do with Revelation Lugia.
