I've never had them in a restaurant but I often make them myself. They're delicious, and a good way to repurpose leftovers.
I can't say I've ever put one in a burger though! That sounds a bit strange to me; croquettes are mostly potato so putting them in a bun seems like it's doubling down on the starch. I'd rather eat them on their own.
