I am shocked. Shocked! Well not that shocked. Given how good the show is, this is not surprising.Really hope they step away from the child bride angle, though.

Kinda surprised. 2nd one was pretty slow paced and honestly quite boring until the last few episodes. Didn't help that 90% of it was just a bunch of pro-child labor BS

Ironic that ANN listed it as season 2's "series finale". And later -- it gets season 3 after all.

Kinda reminds me of when Funimation thought Hetalia World Series was the last Hetalia season. They even made a music video about that!

Well technically it was at least for that season as both cours were approved together in advance.

This on the other hand while annocued has no release date revealed which means it was not in the intial plans, the reception for it must have been better than expected so they approved of it right away

This has been at the top of best selling book as already The series ranked fifth in 2017 and first in 2018 and 2019 in Takarajimasha's annual light novel guide book Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi and this was before the anime made a bigger impact,

Seeing as how Season 2 only adapted half of the arc, this was a given. Super excited though.

Did we watch the same show? You do know children start work at a very young age right? The orphans were literally left to rot in their own filth with barely any food. Myne cleaned the place up, and gave them jobs so they could work and earn better conditions. Those jobs taught them skills they could use for the rest of their lives. Dont know why you are trying to frame this part of the story as a negative.

Excited to hear about that, but I hope that it doesn't get stretched out too much.

Well, the end of the last Ep did say "the story continues"...Super happy to hear this announced so soon. Maybe means they have already started on work having been done with S2 ~4 months ago?

Great news and a pleasant surprise. The ending of season 2 seemed like a good stopping point before the story's universe started to really open up. I also want to believe that the show is doing very well for Crunchyroll and is perhaps a big reason why we are getting more.
