Considering Pokemon's connection to Nintendo, and Nintendo's usual attitude towards their assets being used creatively by people (even for non-commercial purposes), this is a nice surprise.

Well, Nintendo only has a a majority stake on the Pokémon Company but most people think that they outright own the franchise, that cause a lot of confusion in the past few days with Legends Arceus, people were questioning how the game looked so bad if Nintendo has a good understanding of their hardware, but a lot of people don't realise that Game Freak is a separate entity from Nintendo.
