Also I just find it funny how the male lead only shows up at the very end. Though I guess that fits because from what I've heard the romance isn't over and is a very slow-burn.

The slowest of burns. It takes like 400+ chapters for them to even cotton on to the fact that they might have romantic feelings for each other and enter the mutual pining stage. Although in their defence, the story is more about their careers, hobbies and the interpersonal relationships of the entire - quite extensive - ensemble cast (we're talking 30+ characters) than about their romance.
I'm quite torn on this announcement. On one hand, I absolutely adore the novels and I'm very excited, but on the other, I'm worried that the source material won't translate very well to an anime format. Some stories just objectively work better as novels, and I fear this is one of them.
