So is Nozawa gonna be there, or will it be a video feed?

So a few months back Nostalgia Con was going to offer autographs for Masako Nozawa via lottery. You can read the Instagram post about that here.
People who won the lottery would have to pay for the privilege. That's fair, right? Well, guess how much they were charging the winners? US$3,500. No that's not a typo. Three thousand, five hundred US dollars. The link in that Instagram post that goes to the terms and conditions of the lottery is dead, but it got archived in the Wayback Machine here. There must not have been enough takers or something because they got rid of the lottery and made the autographs available to everybody, first come first served. And after that, they showed up here for a lower price of US$3,000. It's sold out, if you want to believe what it says. I feel bad for any lottery winners who paid the extra US$500. Anyway, I strongly feel the need to question how much of that is going to Nozawa herself. It's well-known that Nostalgia Con's events are intended to target TCG and Funko scalpers, but even that price feels ridiculous. Toshio Furukawa's and Romi Park's autographs are only US$200 each, Mariya Ise's is $250, and Kujira's is $150, which you can all see here. That's much more reasonable, if you ask me. |
