OMG. I was born in the 80's but I used to love this as a kid. Also shocking it isn't just a movie, but an actual series. I guess it'll count as a tokusatsu series?
BTW. There's a mistype in the article regarding the serialization period.

Well if its wikipedia page is to be believed, this isn't the first live action adaptation its received.

Oh yeah. I haven't saw the original Toku series, but I did see the 2000s movie.
My shock this time actually came not from because it's being adapted, but more because Miike will be working on it.

I remember when Akakage/Red Mask showed up in Giant Robo: The Day The Earth Stood Still and thinking he was such a cool character, I really hope this new movie comes to fans in America.
