Not sure if this is an Encyclopedia, or Technical question. Either way:
Any chance of allowing us to see the username of those who rated a series? There could be an option in the profile's page that allows the user to hide his/her name from the listings, etc.? This is probably never gonna happen, but since we can also show our anime list with the ratings there, then why not also show our name next to the rating? Perhaps a new link of course, otherwise the anime's page would be massively huge. I have absolutely no ill intentions.

This might discourage people from rating, or rating honestly (some people do).
BTW I was one of the 3 people who rated Demon City Shinjuku masterpiece

That's why they can hide it. And dishonesty is the reason as to why I want to see the names, even though they'll be able to hide it. Meh, it's not exactly that upgrading of an idea, since you'll be able to hide it, but because you'll be able to hide it, it sounds like a reasonable request. I'd say that someone voting for it with all his/her honesty wouldn't hide it. |

Yeah you're right, it probably wont affect sincerity in ratings much. That skepticism was more fueled by the overall inconvenience this might be to encyclopedia editors who already have loads of errors to deal with. This just seems like another ball of yarn to throw on their table.

No. If users really want to make their votes public they can do so in their public list.

I think the request by egoist is slightly different: say, if I want to know which ANN user has read and voted for YKK, there's no way to find out directly from its Encyclopedia entry page, even if their lists were public e.g. mine. However an alternative is available: perform a "like-minded" search for titles already in one's MyAnime/MyManga lists. |
