I got that email too- although I don't know why, seeing as I live 2 states away... I don't think anyone's going to take that kind of a road trip with me to a Borders, even if it is my birthday...

They probably sent that email to their entire Rewards email list regardless of location. I live in Virginia. A cross-country trek for 40% off is not much of a cost savings as far as I can tell.
On a more serious note, is this a sign that the entire chain is going under? I know Borders had a lot of financial problems in 2008. My store is a great source for manga. I hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come for the company as a whole. |

I got another e-mail later saying that they only meant to send it to those in the Sacramento area, not everywhere. So not a sign of Boarders going under thank god.
