Dates can't go earlier than 1900's?

For some reason I can't enter birthdates earlier than the 1900's. While this is understandable, I can't enter birthdates for original authors of some of the works(i.e. Frances Hodgson Burnett). Should I just leave this be, as they aren't really important in regards to anime in general, or is there some way I can do this?
