I am one of those Naruto readers picking up the bonanza of volumes these next few months. I don't read the scanlations, but from the first appearance of Naruto I have been picking up Shonen Jump by Viz and the collected volumes of Naruto as they are released. The other Naruto topic does not focus any longer on these volumes and contain lines and lines of spoiler. I nearly choked when I came across dying characters and then this word was not blacked outshe in one post on page 38 or 39. Yes, I have picked up and read 35 - 37, which left me in tears and then to see even a sentence with those spoilers was very hard to take, since I am not at that point in the story, not for another 3 months at least.
So I hope this thread will stay open so others digging into their pocketbooks and buying this chunk of volumes can express the rollercoaster of emotions Kishimoto sent us through upon this thrilling ride called Naruto.
Volume 34 collects the last chapters appearing in Shonen Jump US, so 35 begins the new stuff for me. These 3 volumes contain everything I really enjoy about manga, awesome character development, interesting new villians and tragedy. Volume 35 begins with all the characters contemplating the results of seeing Sasuke again. Their resolve and sadness tugs you forward, where will Team Kakashi go next. Kishimoto then introduces us to a new pair of Akatsuki members, Hidan and Kakuzu. The pacing Kishimoto uses to introduce these two is much better than Deidara and Sasori. Now the rollercoaster is rushes forward full speed. Old companions take center stage and the reader is not disappointed as Kishimoto spins some really great action and character development through some good old fashion blood, sweat and tears. These 3 volumes just don't disappoint the active Naruto reader.
Another thing I notice is that the Chapter 310 title page is a black and white spread of the absolutely wonderful colored Leaf Village poster that appeared in my recent copy of Shonen Jump. These posters really are nice touch VIZ has done for the readers of SJ, as they await for the return of Naruto.
