For all I know, I'm epically late to the party here...but I don't really ever recall any sort of notices of them going out. I searched ANN's database, but no news articles about them going out of business or anything.

I recall...oh, maybe 3 years ago, their site was dubious and buggy as hell... Failed updates, and I remember them not releasing anything in a year. And when I look back now, it's like...there's nothing there. Site's deader than dead.

Did they go out, in like a whimper? The wimpiest whimper that not even a bat could hear?

After having a minicomeback with a few random japanese titles after a slightly hectic start with a bigger lineup of manwha/manga, and trying to sell Ebook versions of subsequent volumes of some of their korean titles on mail-order CD-ROM [wierd, yes, but it was what they were authorized to do at the time], they folded pretty quietly.

While some manga companies close pretty openly, some just sort of sputter along- sometimes things work out, sometimes not. I think right now most pubs are solid enough so long as fans keep supporting them.

Anyhoo, if you want to order Infinity's books, it seemed their remaining stock of their print books have ended up at RightStuf.

http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/cfh1udE9O5ODYuc-oU/browse/item/65068/4/0/0 I'm a big fan of Witch Class, and also liked http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/cfh1udE9O5ODYuc-oU/browse/item/65088/4/0/0 Hurrah Sailor. Might check out more of their backlist when I get the chance- lots of oddities, and looking at RightStuf's counters, very few stock out there.

Witch Class was quite fun- it featured a heroine who becomes an apprentice witch, and hopes to achieve World Domination. Their releases were pretty much crushed out due to being mostly manwha and due to then being a small company getting in just as the manga market started to get way overcrowded. However, their quality was pretty decent, with nice, thicker paper, colour pages and fun dialogue.

One of their japanese titles, Blood Alone, was rescued by Seven Seas, who will be releasing it in Omnibus format next year.

Ah, yes, thanks. I was somewhat curious on NOW - never finished past volume 2. But, this was mainly just out of curiosity. This was like a stealth-polar-bear-ninja shutdown.

I too, thank you for sharing this, although it would also be interesting to known what exactly happened to the licenses the company held when they went under...

A bit hard to contact, for example Mediaworks, without the skill to write to them in Japanese.

I would assume they lost them, considering Seven Seas was able to pick up Blood Alone. I'm still holding out hope someone picks up Unbalance Unbalance.

I guess that's the best news we are going to get at this time. At least the licenses are not stuck in some legal limbo.

The days of $9.99 books are over and have been for a while.

I understand that, but it feels like I'm paying more for lower quality, which isn't exactly enticing.

You can't really complain over a price, the seller sets it and then you decide if it's worth it. It can be frustrating though. Like a certain individual charging 300usd for Blame! 4...

I liked their release of Blood Alone- it was really high-quality. Other than that, I don't remember what all they'd licensed. They just kind of dropped off the face of the Earth like ADV (whose releases weren't as high of quality as theirs, jeez)

Jump series books are still cheap as hell.

Yeah, but that's only because they sell so many copies.
