this is a bad idea. once one person buys one, they're gonna send them to others, post them on torrent sites, etc. this is why ebooks always fail.

;p Only if you're Stephen King or some other hot author. Honestly, do you really see Protoculture Addicts back issues becoming some kind of wildly hot commodity that everyone would dash to torrent pages for? No.
Shoot, if one person bought a back issue and sent it to all their friends, then those friends who have never read PA before might be interested and would consequently want to buy future issues.
E-book piracy is only a problem if thousands upon thousands of people are going to be stealing a book that they would've been wanting to buy in the first place.
