so this series received alot of hate it seems for the simple reasons that 1)it was a card battle anime and 2) the art style being very similar to yugioh.
now i gave it a fair shot and even though i haven't watched a card battle show since i stopped watching yugioh i thought the show was pretty good and that even the card game its self seemed interesting. its been 6 episodes and with all the rule explaining out of the way and a plot kind of beginning to slowly develop i can really see myself watching this show for however long it ends up going. one thing I've liked is that since the main character is a beginner they show him getting better but don't actually have him win every match just refreshing to know the main character can actually lose in this show. anyways after 6 episodes how do people feel about this show? |

I've really enjoyed Cardfight. My favorite thing about it is that it's a show where CCG's actually work like they do in real life: There's no magic or ancient prophecies, and people get cards from buying booster packs at the local game store. It's messages about making friends and improving your self-image through gaming are realistic and match my own experiences in high school and college gaming clubs. It may be about card games, but the underlying dynamic is worlds apart from Yu-Gi-Oh.
I'm surprised that the main character has lost in the last three episodes in a row (ep4 through ep6)! I think it would be cool if they released Vanguard (the game itself) in English. There is a wiki that translates some cards: http://cf-vanguard.wikidot.com/ |
