I just saw the first episode of EL on the Anime Network and I could not sotp laughing(not in a bad way) I mean the first 15 min. was just pure bananas! The blood...the bits and pieces...HOLY CRAP! I mean she just tore the one girl head off as if she was opening a bottle of Sprite! That was just awesome. And the music was sooo beautiful and haunting all at the same time. I figured that I would watch it since everyone was talking about it so much. Now, usually I'm not a big fan of nudity, but that nudity made sense and worked with the story...not that over the top stuff that ends up being so stupid and sometimes lessens the plot for me. I am offically a convert to Elfen Lied!
And I like Full Metal Panic too, but I don't understand it too much since I started watching at episode 4. So, if anyone wants to fill me in on what I missed on that I would be grateful.[/spoiler] |

I picked up Elfen Lied: Vector One after reading about it. So Far it ranks high on my list of favorite anime. The story is well written and the characters are interesting. There is alot of blood, but it isn't over the top. It really gives you a sense of what Lucy is. So far I've seen the first four episodes and I am anxiuos to see the next three. The story has it all drama, suspense, comedy, sci-fi, cool fights.

You sure you were watching Elfen Lied? Chests blowing open, hearts flying out, bodies falling apart, pens stabbing guys through their heads...nah, there's not THAT much blood.

YES! Elfen Lied is great. It's the first anime that made me take animes seriously. I really like how people just die in gruesome ways. I've watched the whole series twice in one sitting, absoluely captivating! The ending is great too.

Elfen Lied is a great show. It's one of the bloodiest out there but in a cool way. It's not over the top like someone missing an arm and ther are buckets of blood. It's sophisticated violence and gore.
