Can't wait to see if people still complain about CGI mecha for this short or if they make a curious exception, though somehow I doubt Chuunibyou's audience is the hardliner mecha crowd anyway so it might not even come up in the first place.

People won't complain about it heavily here, because it's well animated, which most are not.

That's pretty well a matter of opinion and one I happen not to share. Not that it's not well animated but that most stuff isn't. Typical hardliner attitude for people to take though so I'm not surprised. 
edit: Actually no after watching it again I take that back, I didn't find that especially well animated at all in the PV and even kind of choppy and hard to make out. Kind of like the combat you see in the Transformers movie really with a token Macross Missile Massacre thrown in their for good measure,
