I was just adding an Anime to my seen some collection and was rating it when I asked myself "What others have rated it?" I checked it you and was surprised at the results. That's besides the points, however. I got thinking about the other Animes on my Seen all list so I checked them out. The highest ranked anime I have is #2, Neon Gensis Evangelion. That got me thinking, what is ranked #1? Instead of my searching through ever Anime this site has to offer, I was wondering if anyone knew offhand. Thanks for any info.

Should have figured that one. Not one of my favorite ones but still an excellent anime.

Statistically, Bayesian estimate is more accurate for ratings. |

I realize that. However, Twilight was obviously using the straight average rating, as Eva is not #2, but #35 on the Bayesian estimates. But, that's why I posted the ratings page, so Twilight could know the full picture. Although I guess I could have made that clear earlier. |

Why does "Top 10 Best Rated (weighted average)" start at position 21?

It's in the small print underneath - titles with less than 4 votes aren't shown but are still counted in the rankings. |

Oh, and now I'm on my statistical rant, the method that ANN uses appears to be based on the junk method on IMDb, which has infected the entire Internet. I'd be willing to be proved wrong on this by a Statistics major, but according to my understanding of the subject, this is a complete misapplication of the Bayesian method. The rankings that this formula produces are highly sensitive to the value of 'm' (minimum number of votes), which is essentially an arbitrary value. |

That's the popular vote, best ranking seems to go to Samurai X (Kenshin) for "Trust and Betrayal". Doesn't surprise me a bit, that OAV is amazing.
My personal favorites never seem to make any popular lists, so I've just accepted my fate as a weirdo. |
