Thanks in advance for the help on this. Several years ago, about 10, I saw a portion of an anime movie. I believe it was playing on Sci-Fi channel late night/early morning. I truly hope that I am not confusing a couple of different shows here. I would only get to watch about 20 min before I had to leave for work, but this is what I remember.
There were several "bad guys" that were elemental demons. Or at least one of them was. He was an earth demon, and though he was killed in the fight that I saw, his hand had an imprint of the "good guys" face left in his palm. There was a female warrior, who was exceptionally talented at mayhem, but though she trained with the warlords warriors, her primary job was as a poison taste tester for the warlord. As a result, she herself was immune to most all poisons, but it made her poisionous to other people so much so that she could not touch/hug/be with anyone else. I want to say that the guy who left the impression of his face on the earth demon's hand was her significant partner, as much as she was able to have one. I also seem to remember that one of the characters would talk to people a long way away by placing a string in his mouth when he talked. (This may have been from another show, but it stays in my mind as all being from the same one.) The general setting was in medieval Japan, and most all of the fighting was done with swords. Thanks again for any help in finding this. The bit that I managed to watch looked really interesting, but I've never been able to find a title for it, and would really like to get it and see if it lived up to the potential evident in the short clip I watched. I am apparently an idiot. I thought I was posting this in the "Identifying Anime" section. |

Ninja Scroll no doubt about it. It is a pretty decent action movie. Not exactly the greatest storyline in the world but the action is nice and if you like blood there is plenty of it. You are reffering to the Ninja Scroll movie but you should probably know there is also a TV series out now.
