i think it is because the manga now depends a lot on fanservice so they are not sure a sanitized, long tv version will sell well.

Uh, yeah, even "sanitized" the series in going to sell well. Equal opportunity fan service? Count me in!
Come on, let FUNi have a crack at those OVAs!

The anime was pretty boss. One of my favorites. I really wish they'd make another series.
But even so, I've read all of the manga up until recently and I've got to say... it really doesn't have the same charm that the earlier chapters vs Ragnarok had.
It's gone from a somewhat realistic world of martial arts and turned it into a war between super-human martial arts masters. Also boobs. Lots and lots of boobs.
Either way though, I would like to see the D of D arc animated.

I also wish they'd just a do a television series instead of all these OVAs. Not that they aren't entertaining but I can't help like feeling things are missing in between them.
