First, I want to specify the type of "crazy" we're going for. I'm not really refering to the mentally unstable, insane, or evil type of crazy, but more of the funny/wierd and hyper type crazy. "Madcap" is good word to describe it.
I'm going to require a second nomination (or some kind convincing explaination) to be "approved". I've already seen a few nominations that aren't exactly what I was looking for so I'm doing this just to be safe. A question:-
What factor are we voting for in this? In the Moe tourney we voted for the character that most evoked the Moe feeling in you. What traits/factors are we looking at to determine who gets our vote in this one? Because if it's just who is the most crazy then thats not so good as how do you quantify craziness? |

Do you find crazy characters to be funny? I do. I love them because they're funny. That's what we're going by here. Humor is the main point.
I already explained the type of crazy though. I thought the examples were good enough to get the idea. |

Tsukamoto Tenma from School Rumble. She reasons with herself and comes up with some pretty wierd conclusions and just acts by it, it never fails to make me laugh.

I don't know if he would fall in this category, but I would like to nominate Shinnosuke Nohara from Crayon Shinchan seeing as he doesn't have a clue to what's going on sometimes and he'll make a point with his g*******.

Not sure how many nominations I'm allowed to make, so I'll throw as many as I can think of.
Onizuka Eikichi from GTO - Everything about him is crazy. From the costumes, to the wild methods of teaching, to the crazy facial expressions, to his all-around crazy and eccentric personality. Money D. Luffy from One Piece - The type to make the most random (and usually hilarious) interjections ever. Kuhonbutsu Taishi from Comic Party - Should need no explanation if you've watched comic party. Completely nutty, behavior ranges from crazy poses in public while shouting "MY SISTER AND MY BROTHER!" to skipping out on Kazuki in a certain convention and giving very strange reasons as to why. Icchan from Angelic Layer - Well, "wiggy wiggly Icchan~", his rather strange punishment games, and his odd behaviors... Imamiya Mune from Mahou Shotengai Abenobashi - No matter which strange world she's in, she's completely crazy. Has a different crazy and odd behavior in just about each world. Morita Shinobu from Honey and Clover - Serious one second, completely crazy then next, you never know when he's just going to jump out and do something crazy (either to Hagumi or just something completely random). Sawamura Rin from Midori no Hibi - She's not as crazy as some of the characters that appear later in the manga, but she's a real oddball, especially when she starts drinking... I think I would put Abourenbou ahead of Dejiko on the DGC crazy chart.

If you're going to throw Luffy into the bowl, you've got to throw Tony Tony Chopper (One Piece) in as well. Why? They are basically in the same boat, save the strength. |

Osaka from Azumanga Daioh is just weird and totally confuses me. She is so lost and random, you can't let that one out.
Eikichi Onizuka from GTO is a teacher whacky enough to have a whole series about him. His teaching methods, the way he thinks, the way he flirts, the funny faces he makes, this one is nuts. Dio Eraclea from Last Exile is a weird guy who does anything for fun, and had a weird education. He's not evil, and not very gentle even if he's on the good side. He just does anything he wants like a crazy guy Edward from Cowboy Bebop is a crazy hacker who just acts too randomly and speaks in a weird manner. Kaolla Su from Love Hina is just like Edward, but she's more a mecha/robot crack than a computer geek. |

I don't recall his name but what about the blond guy from FMP: TSR that was leading the detachment that Mithril was up against throughout the entire series? He was pretty messed up in the head.
Also I think Haruhi Suzumiya should defently be included; her crazy antics and rediculous ideas are nothing short of crazy. thinking of more

I don't know if he fits the category, but Akabane, aka Dr. Jackal from Getbackers is pretty damn crazy. While the show isn't a comedy, he was used to humor the viewers many times throughout the series.
Personally though, I don't think anyone quite matches up with Excel. She's probably the poster for crazyness in a comedical point of view. |

Mayune Awayuki from Pretear- Her antics were definatly crazy. While I don't think she herself was supposed to be funny, her antics and the backfireing of them in her face certainly were funny. And she was definintly crazy.
I am also going to have to throw in Yayoi Takashina from the same series. The way she was always talking like she was writing an epic story, and the way she fluttered about were way crazy. Edward from Cowboy Bebop- I am don't know if she was supposed to be crazy cute, but her craziness definitly made me smile. Aisha Clanclan from Outlaw Star- Um yeah, she's crazy alright. And yes at moments even cute too. Kenta Suetake from Doki Doki School hours- More cluesless than anything, he is definitly funny, and dumb enough to be crazy. Not sure about this one though. Kanaria of Rozen Maiden- She exibits some craziness in her. And its funny at the same time. Boy this is harder than I thought. Pantsgoblin Do I have to list all the ones that were listed before my post to show my support for that character, or are you just looking for ideas? |

Haruhara Haruko from FuriKuri would get my nomination. She's always doing something wierd and crazy-like, ie. spoiler[ When she runs over Naota and she starts rolling about and mumbling to herself, that was quite comical indeed.]
