I completely missed last Saturday's (12/10) episode of FMA on Cartoon Network due to a glitch in my recorder. Can someone fill me in on what happened? And please use appropriate spoiler tags!

For those who know FMA but don't follow it on CN, I believe this was supposed to be episode 39.

I didn't see it either, but don't they show repeats on Thursday?

Have you check the Action Boards on adultswim.com? They do a great job breaking down elements of the series (pun not intended). Here's the link to the exact discussion.

I just clicked it without logging on. It should work after a minute or two. Otherwise, cut-and-paste this:

Okay, here's a brief summary from glancing at the fansub 39 (though I hear that the English plot has been changed a bit)

spoiler[Winry and Sheska are interviewed by the military after sneaking in. Armstrong, Mustang, and others ride the train towards Ishbal (I believe), and Mustang meets Kimbley, the Crimson Alchemist, who has been clearef of his crimes. Ed and Al talk with Martel about the Ishbal situation/history. Maria talks about what happened to her and her group, namely the animal/chimera genetic crossing experiments. Ed pretends to be called short again. Mustang calls Ed into his own command, as the military is massing to take down Scar, who has made the city of Lior into a transmutation circle. Lior, after Ed & Al's actions in episodes 1-2, has degenerated into civil war. Ed leaves Al as "collateral" and goes to scout Lior in disguise. Martel plots her revenge, to Al's dismay. Kimbley and Tucker modify several watches, including Ed's, to amplify transmutations. Al, with Martel inside, stumbles upon Kimbley, and she attacks him. Roze appears before Ed as the "Holy Mother," and Ed learns that Scar is also nearby. And, surprise surprise, Lust and Gluttony wait in the wings. The preview for episode 40, "Scar," states that "unhealable scars exist."]

The only thing I would modify about that review is: spoiler[it wasn't Kimbley who was helping Tucker. Archer is the one who commanded that Ed leave his pocket watch at Eastern Command and it was also Archer who handed Ed's pocket watch to Tucker.]

The plot on CN is the same. No plot changes whatsoever.

Thanks for the details, Zalis116 and totalgeek!

So did spoiler[Winry say anything to the military about the creature they saw having the same face as Ed and Al's mother?]

And I'm glad to hear that spoiler[Roze finally popped up again.] She was one of my favorite guest spots from the earlier episodes.

spoiler[No she never mentioned that to the military; I think she's still in shock at seeing it and doesn't quite believe it completely herself yet. Though Scheska (sp?) almost mentioned the "Alien," but Winry stopped her.]

Holy $#!@&!!! It's getting good! This is one of the most awesome parts of this series that's coming up, and it keeps rolling at this clip all the way until the end. I gotta start watching again!

In response to the question about Winry, spoiler[she doesn't mention anything about the creature that they saw. She only says, "Something's happening within the military" before the officers leave.]

Sorry about the character name mixup--it's been almost a year since I watched the show; clearly, I need to watch it again, and again Wink And, I was just clicking through the episode without watching any one section for very long.

A friend of mine mentioned the plot changes; I don't really know if I can believe it, since I haven't seen very many episodes of the English version.
