Oh well, not really a big loss, just another reason not to tune into G4. At least we still have Adult Swim.

Typical G4. They have something good in their lap (like good anime and good programing) and they don't like it because it not cool (like Street Fury).

Their lose is someone else's gain. All the Tech tv crew that has been gone went to do better things.

AU was halfway through a rerun of RahXephon when it left the G4 schedule. As of March 17, it was replaced by Cinematech Nocturnal Emissions, an ecchi videogame animation clip show. The AU forum on the G4 website is still up and running, though, so maybe there's hope for a return. But if they take down the AU forum, that would definitely mean AU is gone.

It's a pity but I guess it's not too surprising when G4, since it absorbed Tech TV, hasn't been able to figure out what it wants to be when it grows up. (^_*)

Good riddance.

G4 loved to totally distrupt the way that anime television series were supposed to be viewed -- with one commercial break in the middle. The way they present it its no wonder they weren't getting any ratings since the viewers never got drawn into the storyline because of the breaks. They also seem to like f'cking up the aspect ratio, stretching a 16:9 screen to 4:3.

I give props to [adult swim] since they always preserve the original format and presentation, it's obvious that they respect the works they are presenting.

Anime Unleashed was not that great, no offense... We dont have much anime outlets in the US and thinking that giving us older/weird shows will make us watch it anyway isn't the right way to go. (On a more personal point of view, i think the US hard core anime fan is a DVD buyer or a Netflix addict.)
The AU latest hit (rahxephon) was several years old and many, like for Evangelion, already saw it. Then Last Exile was fun but I never saw the point of showing us half the show in a week time then make us wait months to see the rest. What's wrong with one episode a week, or at least wait until everything is available. Finally some very weird show killed AU. Colorfull ? Abenashi ? Cromatide ? Come on guys there are many other shows worth our time. And before trying something edgy, go for safety... It was a good pick for Last Exil and gungrave but the programmation sucked like i said.
Elfen Lied would have been an interesting program choice.
I think AU was sacrificed by Comcast... Gradually at least... Beside Comcast has its own anime channel now...

I loved AU when it was on tech tv, introduced me to some great shows like Serial Experiments Lain and the Crest of the Stars series. Their commercial schedule may have been nonstanderd, but they were a small network and needed the advertising money. I haven't gotten to watch it since I lost the channel though, its still sad to see it go. Damn you g4 tv, that networks been going down the tube ever since they canned Leo and all the others.

Their are many rumors floating around that it's due to Star Trek coming to G4, however, this hasn't effect the other BWB shows. As for patch, like Highwayman said, it's not a powerhouse like Tunar's Cartoon Network, where it's in more households then Tech TV/G4. For all we know, it could just be on hiatus for a period of time. If it does go, it's just one less show to watch.

Honestly, I didn't think AU would last this long since the takeover. Good job destroying the only worthwhile shows G4!

Only one more show to go...

It's really too bad they did that. I think G4TV's out of touch with the gaming population as a whole--sure, some gamers really like stuff like 'Fastline' (although I've yet to actually meet anyone that likes that show, but there must be SOMEONE), but that's not ALL gamers. They're catering to the XBOX fans who like stuff like Halo, GTA, and stuff like that--they're completely missing the female gamer market, and the market for gamers who like RPGs or quirky Japanese titles. And when they do try to cater to the Japanese game fanbase, it's with stuff like Nocturnal Emissions. They're really missing the mark.

I would like to thank TechTV for coming up with AU, without it I wouldn't have found "Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi". But to be honest I don't know why everyone is surprised, G4 has been sabotaging it's stupid ass for months now to try and change their image.

My feelings exactly. G4 scopes the surface of the gaming market (to often) and they still manage to be unorganized. There is so much out there to focus on, but they put all there energry into hypes and who know's what they think "works". If Fastlane didn't sell on the other three networks before what will make it fly here?

I'll give them credit for first covering Katamari on Pulse (which was cancelled with along with about half of G4's other shows and all except one from TechTV).

As for AU, it would confuse me if the network announced that they drop it if it has been doing well enough. Hopefully, it's just a hiatus. It's better than airing the same show for an entire month.

Yeah, when I found out another channel on my cable system was showing anime I thought I'd check it out, but it was the first and only time I ever watched it because of the like 5 or 6 frickin' commercial breaks. Jeez. G4 sucks.

They have no real drive. All of their shows either suck out loud or flail or have no point. THe vid game shows are repetitive, their cinematech is boring esp. that crap they show at mindnight. Speaking of which, Comedy Central, a much better channel than G4 in all aspects said to hell with the man show so why would little P.O.S. channel G4 benefit from it. You guys aren't CN so don't try it. You guys have been headlining Star Trek for the past 3 months and it appears that yu have even dropped Fastlane, a much better show than ST in my opinion for it. Just die already or get bought by time warner or something jeeze.
