Last night of Adult Swim's repeat of the 1st episode of Fullmetal Alchemist they show their standard parental advisory logo and disclaimer. But what I didn't expect was a special advisory for the repeat episode, refering to the bloody opening sequence. I don't remember the entire disclaimer but there's the most I can think of:
As if this disclamer wasn't enough, the following program contains scenes of extreme violence. (first paragraph)
We would cut it, but we don't want to look like American Cowboys (?) (Second paragraph)
Does anyone know the full disclamer of the 1st episode of FA last night? Thanks a bunch

They did the same thing for the last episode too actually.
And the disclaimer was more like:
"As if the disclaimer weren't enough, this episode contains extreme bloody violence. We don't want to cut it out because we're american cowboys."

Thanks, but the advisory was two paragrahs long. But thanks anyway.

Did anyone catch the age rating? I know [adult swim] started to air certain shows recently as TV-MA.

The 1st FA episode I mentioned was classified TV-PG LV. I don't know why they haven't classified it TV-14 V though?

I assume they used the same one that they used for the last episode, since you threw in the part about cowboys. That said, the disclaimer for the last episode was, and I quote because I paused my VCR on it just for you;

We would rather run this than cut the violence from the episode because we are American Cowboys. |

[as] has always changed the ratings on most series. Since the content of each episode varies, and the man is constantly changing what is appropriate for kids, [as] has to meet these standards. I believe stuff has changed since the first episode of FMA debuted a while back... take the hot coffee mod for instance. Maybe this was just a way for them not to have to slap a TV-14 over their TV-PG, by putting the disclaimer before the show... or maybe it's all pipe-dreams.

What are you refering to as "the man"? Who is "the man"? Is it the head of secretive Cartoon Network's Standards and Practices Department ?

"The Man", atleast to my understanding, has always been the mysterious person who is trying to regulate every single thing we do. In this case it would be whoever makes the standards for what can be aired on TV and the people who decide what Parental Rating should be added to every single show that is shown.
