I don't think it's "real sad," and I'm just wondering why you would think so if you've only watched "some episodes," since a lot of beginning stuff involves just fights and not the really deep issues. You seem to have reached a conclusion about it but only seen some episodes? I thought it was entertaining, although kind of resembling all the other fight-with-your-doll (ie Pokemon & Yugioh) kind of show. I suppose you could say that there is at least character development and at a progressive storyline. I personally enjoyed the slice-of-life parts over the battle doll fighting parts, but that's just me.

Aside from Cardcaptor Sakura and Chobits I'm not particularly fond of a lot of CLAMP's works and find a lot of their stuff to be a little cheesy and and just going along with what's popular. Even CCS is "just another" trading card fighting genre that was popular, but they still do a pretty good job with the side action and personal issues revolving around the main storyline. They almost never fail to bring good artwork or loveable characters to the screen, as well. OT: Has anyone noticed that all of their characters are anorexic and really tall?

Never mind the spelling. There's this other basic concept of written communication, even message boards, called "punctuation" that you seem to be missing. You see, when you type this long string of words, without breaking them up into what we call "phrases" and "sentences" they become difficult to parse. "Puntcuation" is best accompanied by judicious use of "capitalization."

People are writing about this and not your proposed topic, because the impression made by your writing's lack of coherence is much, much stronger, and against the rules of this forum.

If you write like you went to preschool then people will wonder if you even studied or paid attention in class. And if you write like the way you do then people won't be able to understand what you're trying to say and they won't want to help you. Spelling and knowing how to use grammar is especially important in trying to get that job you've always wanted.

I'm going to go way off topic here: With respect to grammar, some of the worst e-mails I've come across at work were written by a woman who lasted long enough to retire with a full pension! She couldn't write a sentence to save her life but she knew our service order systems and processes like the back of her hand. Thankfully she was "exceptional".

With respect to this thread: I noticed that the show Angelic Layer has an age rating of "Older children". Okay. I see what's going on here. Time to do the old "Exit stage left" trick...

Look I do not want to tell you guys this but i was born with 2 holes in my heart missing up my moter skills, and my teaches never relly help my spell or write. They let me side on spelling and writeing and never help me learn the proper way . So bear with me i am trying to get better ok, and back on topic yes I think the series is sad but in a good way with all the storylines going on in the show. Here the pro's and con's so far in the series for me. First Pros I think it haves some great fighting action. Con's early on you can tell what will happen next but ,that aside still relly good in my mind anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I have Angelic Layer myself and I really enjoy it. The manga has a slightly different storyline concerning Misaki and her mother than the anime. I actually prefer the anime in regards to this part than the manga.

It's really a coming of age story as well or at least growing up on the parts of several people and this includes the adults as well as the kids.

Keep on watching and enjoy. I think that you'll be satisfied with the ending.

Thanks I well, I have like 1/3 of the series left. I just started the Angelic Layer Touney finals part of the series if anyone cared about that.

One more think the reason why i said the anime was sad. Bascliy was because Misaki and her Mother storyline in the anime thats why i said it was said if you seen it you know what I mean.

Aw, come on, just because a series is supposed to be for children doesn't mean it's bad...

In fact, Angelic Layer is one of my favorite anime, mainly because of the relationship drama and storylines. I'd agree that it's not a sad series at first, but in the last third of the series, things do get a bit sadder. Especially Episode 25. Not just with Misaki and her mother; there are also a few sad moments in places like Episode 16, with Sai and her younger sister. Sure, it's a fighting tournament series, but I really don't think that the fights are the most important thing. I do like the creativity and innovation that go into the fights, but what really makes me like AL are the cuteness/emotional moments and the CLAMP art.

My apologies. I didn't mean to give the impression that I was implying that the show is lacking in good qualities.

Clearly you are capable of using English properly. Often you'll get passing jibes but dont take those too seriously, most of the time its just people messing with each other. The nice thing about message boards as opposed to chat sites is that you have as much time as you want, so slow or limited motor skills or poor language skills(for whatever reason, my brother for example is dyslexic) is usually of little consequence(I love that saying).

An important note on this site, its not a generic forum, treat it more like an anime 'Gentlemans Club' and you'll get on fine.
