Okay when I say protoculture I don't mean the actual magazine Protoculture addicts but more along the lines of I need help with the definition of the word. I know its a term used in Super Dimension Fortress Macross and the american version Robotech. I'm just wondering what the word actually means. I've already gone to wikipedia to check out the word but it didn't give me much and since I know (somewhat) of what protoculture was in Macross I'm just trying to make sure if it has the same definition outside the anime. All help would be greatfully accepted.

Well, just like the word has different meanings between Robotech and Superdimensional Fortress Macross, "protoculture" has third meaning in common (non-anime) usage that is completely unrelated to Robotech's mysterious energy source and Macross's equally mysterious ancient race of humanoids from which humans and Zentraedi descended.
According to the non-anime listing on Wikipedia, "protoculture" is also "the passing of learned behaviors from one generation to another in non-human primates." |

Haha yeah thats the same definition I got from wikipedia. I was just wondering if there are any other definitions of Protoculture. I was hoping since this site is related to Protoculture Addicts that they'd be able to give another definition.
