via TRSI...
via Walmart.com (their list price is $7.50; the actual MSRP could be $9.98)

So far, nothing that really has my interest, though that's probably better for me and my wallet lol

Oh yes, I'll also be getting the Blood C movie at some point even though I've already seen it and didn't really care for it. But I did like the TV series and will buy that at some point, so I'll get the movie for completist purposes.

Sankarea is a maybe for me. I'll have to finish E7 before I decide to buy it, haven't heard good things about its later episodes.

I might check out E7AO, but I never finished the original series. How familiar do I need to be with the original series to watch the new one?

RACS has the October releases up now. No major changes from the preliminary info. Sakura Wars: The Movie (as expected) is actually a BD/DVD combo. We Without Wings is delayed. No re-releases solicited at all.

I wonder why they were able to get Sakura Wars out so quickly, yet it's gonna take them until 2014 to put out Akira.

Are Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing or We Without Wings any good?

I cannot attest to We Without Wings, but the quality of Fam seems to a point of contention. I, personally, feel that it was probably one of the stronger and more acclaimed properties coming out of the Fall 2011 season, even in the face of its stiff competition (Future Diary, Chihayafuru). Its world-building was arguably much better than its predecessor, and so too was its political intrigue, but it was brought somewhat lower by the optimistic naïveté of its protagonists, its relegation of characters from the previous season to cameo roles, and some questionable plot choices during the endgame. That said, I found it more interesting and easier to invest my attention in than the previous work, which was itself very enticing; pick up the former if a more lighthearted war drama is what you're in to, but look into the latter first if you would prefer to have a better understanding of the mythos. |

I watched We Without Wings to completion, kind of dug it, but wouldn't feel comfortable recommending it as a buy since I can easily imagine somebody not liking it. It has kind of interesting premise which I can't really discuss without spoiling the reveal since it only becomes apparent after a while what is actually going on. I can say that the fanservice stuff was handled pretty well if that means anything to you.
I really recommending sampling the first few episodes before buying. I'm pretty sure CR still has it in its library. |
