I'm assuming it isn't something that's already been announced, like the revamp (or the models of people taking baths and such...) Will it be something that ties into that there prospective Eva live action movie? (And everybody remember that the Live Action Eva movie is by no means a sure thing yet.) A sequel? A tie-in? Whatwhatwhat I GOTS TO KNOW!!!

their last "big Eva news" was an Eva R2 DVD box set. :)
Going by precident, however, I would expect it to be a NEW new Eva R2 DVD box set, with Rei on the cover and 2 seconds of changed dialog. See if you can hear it. (Hint: Rei says "Anno" instead of "Etto", which fans should instantly recognize as the masterwork of Hideki Anno himself!) ;) |

I think the big Eva news is that they're gonna redo episodes 25 and 26. This time Shinji's gonna wake up in bed with Misato and realize that the whole series was just a dream a la Newhart.

They're doing a one-shot Evangelion/Nadia crossover OVA episode, where Nadia becomes an EVA pilot. Imagine the fanservice possibilities! She could wear a plug suit and bend over! Oh my!

The Eva revamp will feature actual animation.
Furthermore it will include the following joke: "Evangelion? More like EvanSMELLion!" (pause for standing ovation) Instead of Fly Me To The Moon, closing song will be "Love To Love You Baby." |

Yes, anyone who's seen Wings of Honneomise, End of Evangelion, His and Her Circumstances or FLCL knows that Eva's popularity and reputation stand on a foundation of nothing but fanservice.

Actually Gainax should drop the fanservice and exemplify the kind of highbrow classy entertainment exemplified by Utena, which is 100% sleazy fanservice-free. Especially the movie.

I would like to see re-make of episodes 25 and 26 to be done. The ending for Neon Genesis was low budget, and left me feeling like I was ripped off. But, odds are it will either be another gimmic  , or an announcement about the movie.
