Oh, hey... The first "new" series I'll be looking forward to watching in quite some time! =D
Kind of sad it's not related to the manga, though... But they never do finish Shojo anime adaptations of manga. 
Let me guess... She plays the violin, too? (Ok, I give... The title of the series really would make it weird to have a protagonist that didn't). |

IIRC, there are connections to the original series, at least in the games. Hihara is now an adviser to the orchestra club, filling the same role Shinobu did in the original game/manga/anime.
