The previous recordholder was the single that contains the last μ's song in the anime. My guess is a lot of people bought it in the first week because they thought it would be the final single. Now those same people also bought the actual final single in the first week, you can see that from the very little difference of 96,479 and 96,150.

Your theory doesn't quite hold because the 3 movie singles were released in 3 consecutive weeks and were all able to be preordered at the same time.
