I hope they still working in localization of other small games.
Not surprising after the 2013 buying honestly.

Ever since this was talked about, people who would know said this shouldn't affect Atlus' usual routines in any noticeable way. So nobody should be worried for now.

Here's hoping that this acquisition results in Sega debuting more new games...

I'm guessing this is an April Fool's joke.

Nah this was announced yesterday (or even the day before) on Personacentral, aka not April 1st. So nope, no joke!

Wouldn't buying Atlus also mean they own the NA branch?

Atlus pretty much confirmed that this was the intention back when Sega bought out Index's debt. The publisher might have changed formally, but nothing changes for how Atlus will operate going forward.

Huh, I could've sworn this was already the case. Regardless, nothing should change aside from perhaps SEGA's logo appearing when you boot up an Atlus game.

Conspiracy theory: What if P5 was delayed in order for this acquisition to be finalized?

Atlus was always one of my favorite companies. I'm really hoping this Sega stuff is a joke and doesn't start causing content cuts with Persona like we got with Yakuza. As horribly as PSO2 stuff has been handled, I'd hate to see Megami Tensei stuff start getting the same crappy treatment.

What happened to Yakuza 3 was a one time thing though and half of what got cut was unimportant.

So it is true. I guess it's a lot more special to take what seems like a joke and state it on April fools. Wow. Just Wow.

Not really a big deal. It's just means that Sega is the publisher now. Atlus will still do what they've been doing all this time.

I doubt it either. Persona is a much bigger franchise than both Yakuza and PSO, Sega wouldn't hear the end of it if they messed with any of the MegaTen games.
