I hope I would not be accused of philistinism were I to worry that this promotional video placed a great emphasis on mobile suit battles. Their presence is, of course, the sine qua non of a Gundam production, though so too is the scheming and often gleefully cruel character drama that made previous episodes of this series so effortlessly watchable. Char was at his most delectably cunning and conniving in episode three, and it would be much of a pity for the emphasis on his machinations to become diluted by Zakus and GMs. Only the latter can be expendable and fungible assets in this story.
