Wait, it was bad? I thought it was good. It may not be a true prequel, but because it had fanservice, doesn't mean it was bad

The manga's a lot of fun, and Sato's one of the better directors around. Should be solid.

If you're a fan of Ryosuke Takahashi's brand of misanthropy, more power to you. For me it was an increasingly tedious exercise in watching a mouthpiece visit various places & events of significance during the 60s & lecturing them as only a sad old man whose never left Tokyo could (regardless of how much of it came from the manga).
