I really wish that they would represent more characters than just the most recent games, even if not everyone in the west recognizes them. Hell, throw in the characters from the classics and put their games on the virtual console for people who get curious. I mean how many people played Fire Emblem on gba because Marth and Roy were in melee, or the 3DS Kid Icarus because Pit was in Brawl?

I'm still holding out on buying Echoes on the hopes it will get a switch release one day. Also I agree that using characters from older games is a great way to get people interested. Fire emblem heroes has done a pretty good job of doing that for me anyway. I will say however that I still do favor Awakening and Fates characters since I know them better then past titles.

They're not in because western gamers don't recognize them, they're not in because they'll either be put in as DLC or for the potential sequel.

Going to be pretty weird to play games like Thracia 776 or Genealogy Of The Holy War or even Mystery Of The Fire Emblem on the Virtual Console in America and Europe as they were never released outside of Japan and therefore don't have an official english translation waiting around like Earthbound Zero did.

Most of the people who played Uprising were already familiar with Pit from the original game as opposed to the original Fire Emblem and Binding Blade (which were never released outside of Japan) the latter being a particularly funny thing due to fact that chronologically it's a sequel to Blazing Sword (the first Fire Emblem to get released in the west).
