Well, yeah. It's pointless to have million live because they moved all the girls over to Idolm@ster Cinderella game. I wouldn't see this news as bad, it's actually good because now they can focus more on their primary game!

They didn't move to the Cinderella game, they have their own game called Idolm@ster Million Live Theater Days or something like that. But on another note, this makes me feel like the same will happen to Love Live. 3DCG games always tend to do better. So, I expect this to happen, I just hope they'll find a way to transfer your account to the new game, I am not grinding from level 1 all over again.

I believe for the new LL game they did say they were allowing you to transfer your old stuff over. At least according to what my friends GF was saying when we were talking about it a couple weeks back, as I was saying I was done playing/rolling in SiF as I didn't want to waste time investing in more cards only to have to restart. You will likely have to restart your level most likely though.
OG ML game is just a clicker social game that was a product of the old gen mobile games from japan. Starlight Stage and Theater Days are just a natural progression to stay relevant in the current mobile game climate. That being said OG CG is still running strong and is consistently ranked #5 in the category and sometimes will bump up to #4 on the mobage website. Starlight Stage is usually ranked around the upper 20's to 30's range on both Google Play and the iOS store where as Theater Days hovers in the 200's close to 300 on both. I think they're shutting down OG ML to try and bolster the numbers to Theater Days which I honestly believe has been struggling immensely from not only the store numbers but the fact they've been pushing TV CM's every gacha now, constantly offering paid specials. The specials that have been hammered as of late have been discounted rolls 1500 then 2k that reset each day for 2 days, guaranteed SSR for 2500 and most recently a Scout Ticket for 2500 to get a SSR of your choice.
Gree in general apparently hasn't been doing too as of late which makes me wonder if that's why they partnered with CR to push their games in the west.
