Didn't they already announce a Professor Layton anime in Japan or will this just end up running in a different region on it's own?

I think the news is that they are making a 50 episode anime based on Lady Layton Mystery Journey and before now it was vague information that it would be about the Professor Layton franchise. It is amusing that it was announced in a Singapore press release before it was announced in Japan.
