My biggest problem with My Monster Secret has always been these middle volumes that transition the series from "everyone realizes who they have crushes on" to "everyone decides what they're going to do about that". The first half-dozen volumes are pretty solid, and the final ten or so are remarkably solid and heart-felt, but everything in between is built on the substantially less firm "will they or won't they" foundation of the Betty and Veronica thing that Asahi has going with Shiragami and Aizawa.
I'd recommend that anyone who enjoyed the beginning of the series, but is finding these last few plot developments kind of rough, just hang in there for a bit.
